Jason graduated from the London School of Fashion in 1995 and went on to gain his BA Honours at Central St Martins in 1997. Jason then went to work for David Feilden where he stayed for 8 years honing his talent for designing gorgeous gowns, whilst also teaching at The London School of Fashion and Central St Martins. From there he went on to create his own label, until in 2008 Veromia snapped him up to become their In House Designer.
Jason created the 4 times award winning Sonsie Collection with Ultimate Fit for the Curvy, Confident Bride in 2009. Jason felt that most dresses for curvy girls were uninspiring and so he wanted to create a Collection with a great fit, amazing corsetry, but with the magic of Veromia, to flatter the curvier bride and give her a sleeker silhouette.
Marguerite has won a number of awards recognising her unmistakable talent in bridal couture, including Bridal Buyer Designer of the Year, Retail Bridal Association Designer of the Year and British Bridal Association Designer of the Year.
Passing on advice to aspiring designers, she emphasises tradition and perseverance. “Graduates have to be prepared to work hard honing their pattern skills and use of fabrics before they can expect to design a good collection and be employable.” “Design must be based on what is going to work on the human form and this does take a long time to learn and appreciate.”
